WIENER FESTWOCHEN X APPLIED LOVE

What happens when hearing becomes a secondary matter?  By using vibrating materials and interactive, tactile design, music becomes perceptible beyond hearing. The club turns into a space that can be experienced with the whole body. Throughout the evening, a music program will be presented that focuses on the tactile experience of sound. The event is open to everyone - to those who perceive music differently, and to those curious about new ways of experiencing it. Together we want to create a space for exchange, to question how club culture can become more inclusive in the future and what a club might look like if it were truly designed for everyone.

Programm
Deaf_Iance
Alexander Regal aka Deaf_iance works and lives in Vienna. He grew up with a hearing disability, nevertheless learned to play cello and piano.
In 2018 he was officially issued his disability pass with the designation “deaf”.
He is a self-taught drummer, having learned in 2020 and has since focused more on rhythms.
In spring 2024, he took part in a Sub_Bar project for hearing-impaired and deaf people and learned how to use synthesizers without hearing music, but feeling it.
Performances at Vienna's Fluc, Innsbruck's PMK, at Angewandte Festival (Vienna) and Most Wanted Music Festival (Berlin) followed.
His music is minimalistic and heavily based on rhythms.

Mitra
Mitra is an experimental electronic live duo from Vienna, Austria. The project explores the deep interplay between sound, space, and perception. Each performance is a site-specific experience, shaped in direct response to the venue and its sound system. With the environment playing an active role in the sonic dialogue, the duo is shaping each performance into a unique, unrepeatable experience. Instead of adhering to conventional structures, Mitraʼs live sets emerge organically in real time, embracing an open-ended exploratory approach to sound. Here they often deconstruct and reverse engineer the all known musical patterns. Within their live sets, sound systems are not just playback devices but essential instruments. They are sculpting texture, dynamics, and atmosphere as an integral part of the performance. Especially when it comes to the subfrequencies, the duo loves to explore the perceptive part of the spectrum with the audience.

Macrosoft
In Macrosoft's selection, complexity dances with minimalist grace.
Seamlessly blending genres and styles, she navigates the night,
guided by the whispered secrets of IDM, broken beats, and the heavy throb of bass.
